Spring has sprung around the Cottage this year.   I haven’t decorated for Easter and spring in such an in-your-face-way before, but it was super fun!     I pulled out lots of pinks and greens to go with my pale aqua sofa.     Used some vintage, some repro, some new, some (a lot of) bunnies.     Added some greens to the mantel, with milkglass and tulips…     I know. Welcome to Christmas in my cottage kitchen! Did you know aqua goes with every ding dang color?     I took a risk when I painted my kitchen cabinets Weathered Aqua by Porter Paints.     Our builder warned us against it. Ever since we moved into our new-build cottage bungalow, I wanted a real wood top on my island.     I pretty much decided we’d replace the wood-look formica within the first year. Yeah. After stumbling upon the Instagram Decor Bubble, I found folks generally go for neutral farmhouse look. Thanks Jojo.     ‘Farmhouse’ is the buzz word, at least in the circles I move in. {watch for a soon-coming-post where I define for myself the difference between ‘farmhouse’, ‘cottage’ and ‘country’} And I’d say I love bits of rustic farmhouse, those vintage pieces that played a functional role in past times that now clutter up my mantel and sideboard.     Neutral… Read more »
